Rex Thompson B. Koate hails from Mogho central town of Gokana Local Government in Rivers State of Nigeria. He is the first of four offspring from late Rev. Thompson B. Koate . His late Dad was his first music teacher. He took lessons on choral singing, piano, conducting and percussions. At age of nine young Rex was already singing and accompanying the adult choir on the piano. He was later trained by his first piano teacher..
